A7 4G 2015+ Facelift - Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

This retrofit is for the fitting and enablement of Lane Departure Warning (LDW) to the A7-S7-RS7 4G 2015+ Facelift.

Once completed, the driver will have the ability to switch the LDW feature on and off via a new button on the end of the indicator stalk. When enabled, the LDW icon will show at the top of the instrument cluster in Yellow to show that it is activated and ready. In addition 2 grey 'lines' depicting the white road markings will appear on the centre screen of the instrument cluster if that screen is selected. Finally, if the vehicle has a Head Up Display, the lines will appear in the HUD display showing the system is enabled.

While driving, once the car detects the road marking, the Yellow LDW icon on the instrument cluster will change to green and the line marks on the instrument cluster and (optionally) on the HUD will go white. If you veer over the white road markings, the lines will turn red. Optionally, if desired the steering wheel will gently vibrate to warning you and in addition will gently turn the wheel back into the centre of the lane.

There are 2 options on the MMI to configure LDW. You can select whether you want the system to vibrate the steering wheel or not, and you can always configure if you want the system to react 'early' or 'late' when it detects the vehicle is veering over the road markings.

This retrofit takes about 2 hours to complete and includes full steering re-calibration which is required as part of this procedure.

This retrofit has to be done at our workshop in Sussex, UK.
